Fat Burners

Posted on: March 23, 2009

Most Fat Burners and weight loss supplements make claims that they can ‘make excess body fat melt away’. It’s a difficult decision as an average consumer to know whether the ingredients in these products are safe or even effective. First, let’s take a look at the 3 ways that fat burners and weight loss supplements usually work.

First, they help the body break down fat. This involves releasing it from fat cells, where it enters the bloodstream as free fatty acids that are then transported to muscle cells where they may be burned.

Secondly, many fat burners will suppress your appetite. This is a very complex process, and no one exactly knows how this method works – but what we do know is that many hormones and neurotransmitters are involved. As human’s, our primary instinct is to survive and once the appetite suppressants are stopped people become hungry again.

Last, many fat burners work to inhibit the absorption of fat during digestion so that there are no fat deposits to begin with. However, fat ‘blockers’ won’t prevent weight gain if a person is overeating protein or carbohydrates. The negative side effects of these supplements include stomach discomfort, diarrhea an inability to absorb many important fat-soluble vitamins and nutrients.

One of the most important things I found out about colon cleaning is you MUST juice fact for 3-5 days to get the OLD stuff out of your system. Of course clear the fasting with your doctor first.
